Embroidery floss, crochet hook, finger puppets and bulk candy: Just a few great plastic-free zero waste stocking stuffer ideas for kids[/caption]
When I was little, one of the most magical things about Christmas was waking up to find that Santa had materialized in the night and filled the stocking I hung on the end of my bed with little goodies. I’d scurry across the hall to my parents room and examine whatever treasures I received from the comfort of their bed. It was the perfect thing to keep me occupied while they waited for their coffee to bring them to life on Christmas morning.
We always got an orange or a clementine in our stockings (a passed down tradition from when fruit was far less accessible during the winter). One of the best things I ever got in that stocking was a miniature china tea set. It was so pretty and my little imagination immediately took over, thinking of fairies and mice and other creatures sitting down to tea. I loved it. And, looking back, it was a great zero waste stocking stuffer!
